Critical Care ICU

Critical Care and Emergency Services include the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Cardiac Cath Lab, Respiratory Care Services, and the Emergency Department.

In the ICU and PCU, medical and surgical services are provided for a wide variety of conditions and we serve primarily an adult population. Our licensed and professional nursing staff has many years of critical care experience. We have state-of-the-art technology and equipment for monitoring patients, including an external artificial heart device. These units receive referrals from many of the hospitals in our rural communities to continue treatment of complex, critically ill patients.

We have two Cardiac Cath Labs with state-of-the-art technology and innovations comparable to (and newer than some in) the Indianapolis area. We are the only provider in this area to have a completely digital lab. Images from your cardiac cath and interventional procedures can be stored and retrieved digitally on a computer, and can be written onto a CD Rom. In our cath lab, your cardiologist or radiologist can perform any diagnostic test relating to the circulation in your heart, brain, torso, arms or legs. Additionally, they can perform interventional procedures like balloon angioplasty, stent deployment, and atherectomies. The cath lab is available 24 hours a day to deal with any cardiac or other circulatory emergency.
